The first Dressbarn store opened 45 years ago. It was listed on the stock exchange in 1995. Although the company is still run by the founding family, it has undergone several rebrands. Recently, it became a specialty retailer, but has kept its core target customers at heart. The company’s CEO, David Jaffe, and chief marketing officer, Vivian Behrens, have continued the brand’s mission. These executives ensure Dressbarn remains open for business.
Although the retailer has announced that it will close stores nationwide, it is not closing altogether. Ascena Retail Group, the parent company of Dressbarn, has not announced a date for the stores to close. The company has stated that it will honor any remaining merchandise credit and gift cards received from customers before closing their doors. The stores are expected to close by December 26.
